Synopsis: Levi Black is an s.o.b.

Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he’s a pretentious, obnoxious, womanizing jacka** who thinks the world revolves around him.

He wouldn’t be wrong.

A famous soccer player, his skills on and off the field have won him medals, trophies, women, and the cover of every heartthrob magazine in the country. He’s broken nearly every bone in his body and a few hearts along the way, including mine—his stepsister—and lived to tell about it.

One night changed everything, and I’ve avoided him like the plague ever since. Just long enough to finish college, to bury the hurt, and to outrun the memories. But now that’s all changed. I’m back, and there’s no more running.

My hands are supposed to be my livelihood, but now they’re my curse. Levi’s reckless ways have landed him in a sticky situation, and his father has given me an offer I can’t refuse. One month, and all I have to do is put my hands on his body. Easier said than done. The problem is, even though I know it’s bound to bite me in the a**, I can’t bring myself to say no to the s.o.b.

S.O.B. is not the usual the run of the mil stepbrother romance. Yes the hero is embodies the typical stereotypical stepbrother character that we have come revered in these sort of books but there is way more to our SOB.

Levi our man in question has always lived up to his father’s expectations and follow his orders. Now he is a delusional soccer player with a playboy reputation trying to hide his true feelings and wishes. As life hasn’t been the same ever since he meet Vista. Now he is a mess with no way out of things unless he makes a stand .

But at what cost?

As he is tousling with things , Vista enters back into his life, adding more to the chaos because Levi hasn’t’ forget her. She the girl who he had a one stand night with which was never enough for them because was forced to make a decision that hurt them both because of their situation as step siblings

Hence the S.O.B tag as it is evident when dive in from the first page in Vista’s POV that she isn’t happy that Levi did what he did.

Vista is no longer is the innocent girl who took a risk. She is now fresh out of college with a degree and promise from his father to help start her own business. The girl who now thinks Levi thinks the world revolves around him and doesn’t want anything to do with him bar the job that she is agreed to. As Vista is all clued up Levi and she is ready as he broken her heart…..

However though her heart may be broken, there is a charm to Levi and she can’t help herself when it comes to Levi.

Will he charm his way back into his life and start where they left off on a postive note ?

S.O.B. is a second chance story of a difference there is no hidden back stories of she didn’t who he was. It up straight and personal as they got down and dirty and tried to work things out through banter and more

What makes it difference as whilst Levi is a cocky stepbrother, Vista isn’t a laid back person either and their exploded the moment that they lay eyes on each other. With Vista trying to persuade us to believe that he is all that he comes across that. Levi is silently wining us over with that and more.

It a fun sexy book, not to heavy and dark.   I couldn’t get enough of these two and do hope that the author writes another step brother book in the future

As this book ticked so many boxes aside from the whole step brother angle, as it was also a new adult, second chance sport romance. It was slight predictable but so enjoyable that I could over look things.

If you are looking for a cliché fulled stepbrother romance that isn’t over the top. Give this book a try

Lies & Leather #1
Violetta Rand
Releasing Oct 20th, 2015

Perfect for fans of Joanna Wylde and Monica Murphy, Violetta Rand’s explosive new Lies & Leather series kicks off with a red-hot motorcycle racer who rides hard and plays for keeps.

Twenty-one-year-old Karlie Augustine is a survivor. She’s smart and tough, but she’s in too deep
with a bad boyfriend who isn’t above breaking her spirit—or her body. Luckily,
help arrives in the form of a leather-clad, motorcycle-riding hunk on the right
side of the law. Lucas Lafontaine is pure muscle, a Corpus Christi cop who
ignites something primal deep within Karlie. And when he offers her room and
board in exchange for housekeeping, she finally starts to feel safe again.
As their arrangement turns deliciously decadent, Lucas gets hooked on Karlie’s
killer body and fighting spirit. He wants to heal the pain he sees behind her
eyes, but to protect her he needs to keep her close, especially now that her
psycho ex won’t take a hint. Even as Lucas fights his own battle for custody of
his young son, he knows that what he’s found with Karlie is real—and that he’d
do anything to protect the woman he wants to take to the finish line.

I honestly don’t know what to make out of this book. I loved the story but I was expecting Lucas to have the issues as the book is name after him. He does but Karlie’s story is one what really shapes the story and I got a story with a trope that I enjoyed but left me wanting more as the author told parts of Karile’s story rather showing it which would have been more powerful. I read another book with similar kind of heroine and so I saw what this book could have been if a few things were tweaked.

It is obvious Karlie has a lifetime of pain and hurt stemming from the moment that she was born. From a baby she was put in foster care and spend her until childhood years there and it left a need to find love. Her foster parents were horrible and it all added up . Now she is a broken woman, willing to settle for anything

As her need is so great that she founds herself in relationship with Conner, a fellow racer who uses her insecurities to his advantage, forcing her to stay silent and bid her time. As she can’t strike up the courage to escape. Until she meets Lucas who becomes her procetor and saviour in one instance.

Lucas is a natural-born protector, that has he channelled into his job as a police officer. However the need to protect, means he has gone more than beyond the duty of his job and when he sees Karlie. He can’t help feel a need to help her. To the point that he intervenes and decides to change Karlie’s life. However he got his own set of problems and whilst Karlie offers a distraction , they wont’ go away. He needs Karlie but

After a lifetime of hurt and pain, will Karlie find happiness or is Lucas just another stepping stone in a journey of discovery?

This is my first book from the author and on’t get me wrong I like the whole damsel in distress situation that Karlie find herself in and how they meet. I just felt that Karlie was just looking for a person to trust and was willing to go in blindly despite him being a police officer. A police officer can have problems and Lucas did have his share. However I wanted more with the motorcross and not how did end . Yes we did get a satisfying ending for the couple but after mentioning a certain event that played a part in the relationships of various characters. I would have thought at least we would have gotten that scene!

As there plenty of entertainment factor in this book from exes who can’t let go to a twist that you won’t see coming that leaves you wondering if there is anything else. This book is surprisingly light despite Karlie’s problems and Lucas’s . I felt it was too quick and that her needs drove things and she should have realised thing for herself instead of relying on others. That why I can only give it

Review: The Road That Leads To Us

Title: The Road That Leads To Us

Series: Us Series (standalone)

Author: Micalea Smeltzer

 Release Date: October 27, 2015

Things are about to get rocky for Dean Wentworth and Willow Wade.

Willow Wade is used to living in the spotlight, with her father a famous drummer in the band Willow Creek—her namesake—it’s been a lot to live up to and oftentimes she doesn’t feel she’s enough. But there has always been one person she could turn to.

Dean Wentworth knows a thing or two about how crippling a name can be. His family is worth billions after all. But Dean’s always been content to do his own thing. Play his guitar. Work on cars. And geek out to his various “nerdoms”.

But when Willow turns up unexpectedly, he realizes maybe there is more in life he wants.

One trip will change their lives forever.

TashTash M

I do like the idea of a road trip new adult romance, I have read some amazing ones that I have adored to pieces so I was definitely curious about this one after discovering the book by chance because of that cover. It is so clean and edge and draws you in and I took a chance with

The Road That Leads to Us is my first book of this author and had no clue this book as tied to previous two different series of this author. Whilst I didn’t feel anything amiss by only discovering these characters now, I do want to know more about these characters family .

Willow Wade just wants to forget her first year of college and take a summer road trip with her friend s to sort out her thoughts and plan for her future. However they have other ideas for the summer and bail on her and she returns home to with a crazy idea to still do the trip but with someone she trusts.
Dean her childhood friend and close family friend has always been her confident and she turns to him with hopes of offering a solution to her summer and plans. Instead he offers the road trips she wants , knowing that something is on her mind and that she needs it , not expecting what happens when they set off on Willow’s Epic Road Trip.

A road trip that truly represents what I love about road trips. Whimsically, no plans and random, well they had one destination. Malibu to visit Liam, her cousin, ( I do hope this broody surfer gets a story at some point) added an interesting secondary story. However this story is their’s and you have to wonder why now ?

The Road That leads To Us, isn’t a fast moving romance. It slow and gradual as we get first insight to them into their friendship and how eventually they were might for each other. Whilst they might be exploring their romance for most of the book, the relationship seems to me at time, best friend level. Though there is undoubtable fact that Dean always been there for Willow and let face it , a guy who wants to help out a girl and go on a road trip. There must be feelings as Willow’s Dad could see it

Now I had no indication that was the first in a series and whilst I feel there was slight problems with the book , I hold hope that further book in the series will solve them and offer as solutions. As this is only the beginning of their story. I liked that the author actually is working with her characters, not forcing them to reach the magical HEA in one book. These two are young and have their lives in front of them.

Those bitches were gonna die.

That was a horrible thing to say about my so-called ‘friends’—and I used the word friends loosely, because true friends wouldn’t ditch you the day of your scheduled road trip because they’d rather be sunbathing in the Hamptons.

The fucking Hamptons.

I mean, how clichéd could you get.

This was why I hated rich people.

It also sucked that I was one of those rich people.

Well, I wasn’t, but my dad was.

So by extension so was I.

When you grew up with a rock star for a dad, cameras and eyes followed you everywhere. It was exhausting.

I couldn’t just be Willow.

I was Willow Wade.

The daughter of the famous drummer Maddox Wade.

People expected greatness from me.

I just wanted to graduate college without slitting my wrists.

Title: A Moment of Weakness
Series: Boston Alibi #1
Author: Brooklyn Skye
Publisher: Entangled: Brazen
Genre: Contemporary Romance (Hot)
 Release Date: October 19, 2015
Until her new job starts in September, buttoned-up elementary school teacher Laurel Harris is at loose ends and in need of cash. Fortunately her best friend’s older brother is a single dad and desperately needs a nanny. Or so she’s told. She doesn’t anticipate him being such a menacing, muscled, and undeniably gorgeous man…or that he has zero interest in hiring a nanny.Micah Crane will do right by his young daughter, no matter the cost. And right now, that cost is juggling parenthood with long hours at his bar and working as an enforcer for a notorious crime boss. He doesn’t need another complication in his life, but the sweet, frustratingly opinionated little blonde hell-bent on caring for his daughter stirs his blood like no woman ever has.

All it takes is a moment of weakness to ignite the lust blazing between them. A moment that will unravel their self-control and unleash all of Micah’s darkest secrets…

TashTash M

A Moment of Weakness explores a common moment that we all experience in our lives numerous of times. A moment that we put down all guards and thrown caution to the wind. A weak moment which can a result in a good thing or a bad thing that we can regret . For Micah, moment of weakness have been a bad thing for him mostly, he may have gotten his daughter . However being tied to the mob is a bad moment he regrets.

A moment he isn’t been able to shake as one you work for the mob , getting out is hard. Micah isn’t a bad guy, he is just misguided thanks to a childhood he would rather forget. A life on the wrong side of tracks he wants to get out of and if being in the mob means that he can provided and help his struggling bar, he will do anything. However being in the mod has costed him and now things are starting to get tough. His daughter is old enough to question things and sister April is worried about it. So she decides to meddle and send her best friend his way. Laurel a dreamer and idealistic who is looking for a summer job.

Laurel is the opposite of Micah. She isn’t misguided, she got her path set in front of her. She never had a moment of weakness that has made her want to forget. She just needs a job to tie her over until the summer is over and she can star her teaching career. However Micah isn’t anything like she expects and she worried. As Micah comes off as a  bad boy and he isn’t that keen her on her looking after his daughter. As he believes he is doing his best and doesn’t need a woman like Laurel helping him.

In a moment of weakness, Micah says yes to having a woman who has the life that he wanted for his family becoming his daughter’s nanny. But will their shared moment of weakness changed the game ?

I like the concept for using moments of weakness to drive the novel. As we all have these moments and we can do crazy things in those moments. That can turn into a beautiful outcome. Micah and Laurel’s story was a fun cute story with a mob twist that I enjoyed but need something special to make it outstanding.

She opened her mouth, but before she could get anything out, he said, “How about we show you where you’ll be sleeping,” and walked out of the kitchen, gesturing for her to follow.Silently, she trailed him, her suitcase bumping along the carpeted hallway. With each step, she catalogued what she knew of him so far.

Right foot. Raising six-year-old alone.

Left foot. Has taken some precautions in keeping Shaelynn safe, but might need some help with that.

Right foot. His backside is really, really nice to look at.

Left foot. I wonder if those muscles under his back pockets feel as hard as they look—

“It’s only a two-bedroom apartment,” he said, suddenly coming to a stop. The movement was too fast, and by the time her brain caught up, she was already slamming into the back of him. Right against the butt she’d been staring at.

Oh my god.

He twirled fast and clamped his huge hand around the top of her arm to steady her, those brown eyes ticking from her eyes to her forehead to her ears, mouth, over her shoulder, then back to her eyes. The force of his stare triggered a nervous giggle from her lips.

“I’m so sorry,” she said, forcing her gaze to stay with his even though the intensity was making her a little dizzy. “I didn’t expect you to stop right there.”

“We’re at the end of the hallway,” he said, unamused.

Right. But… She pointed to where the carpet dead ended. “I couldn’t see because of your…”

Butt. Not a chance she’d admit that.

Your entire ginormous body blocking my view. Yeah, not that either.

“Because of…um, you,” she said, swallowing down what she hoped was all of her embarrassment.
